Disability awareness is an essential part of nurturing an inclusive workplace culture. In a world where an estimated one in six people experience significant disability, and where people living with disabilities are still at risk of facing discrimination and everyday challenges that simply shouldn’t exist, it’s not something we can ignore. And it’s not only a moral imperative—it can also lead to a competitive advantage. Workplaces thrive on diversity, inclusion, respect, and empathy—for everyone. The more informed you are about the various types of visible and non-visible disabilities, and the impact they may have on individuals in the workplace, the more likely it is that you’ll contribute to a more inclusive work environment. This course explores various disabilities, considers their impact, and looks at practical strategies that can be used to create workplaces where the contributions of every individual are celebrated.
