Attending our course 'Introduction to Management' provides you with the opportunity to gain one of the UK's most prestigious awards for first line managers.
For an additional £270 (+vat) you can opt to take a post-course assessment to gain a CMI level 3 Award in Principles of Management and Leadership. Option 3, Managing Individuals to be Effective in their Role, focuses on managing people on a day-to-day basis, developing capabilities, delivering results, developing relationships and driving best practices. The aim of this unit is to develop the manager‘s understanding of how to use their knowledge, skills and abilities confidently to support individuals, not only to perform well, but to exceed expectations.
The CMI Level 3 Award in Principles of Management and Leadership is a concise qualification, designed for supervisors and first line managers who want to develop or sharpen their professional edge and enhance their personal effectiveness as a manager. Option 3 covers unit 303, Managing Individuals to be Effective in their Role, which focuses on how managers can confidently use their knowledge, skills and abilities to support individuals, not only to perform well, but to exceed expectations.
On successful completion of the unit, you will be able to:
- Understand an individual‘s work role and responsibilities
- Set objectives with individuals
- Support individuals to perform well
- Assess outcomes against the objectives
- Manage the underperformance of individuals
The content of our 'Introduction to Management' course and support material has been fully accredited by the CMI and mapped to the CMI unit 303 which makes up the CMI Level 3 Award in Principles of Management and Leadership - Managing Individuals to be Effective in their Role.
To gain the award delegates simply need to attend the course, study the online support materials and successfully complete and submit a post-course assessment.
The assessment
Having successfully completed our 'Introduction to Management' course, you will be given an assignment which you will need to complete and return to Hemsley Fraser for assessment.
You will complete the assignment remotely, however you will be able to receive up to an hour of email or phone support from a Hemsley Fraser trainer should you require it.
The assessment will be based both on the knowledge gained through the course and study, and linking of this to practice in the workplace. The length of the assignment will be 2,000 to 2,500 words broken into a number of questions. You will have eight weeks in which to complete and submit the assignment.
How much does it cost?
The cost of the optional qualification is £270 (+vat). This cost is in addition to the course cost of 'Introduction to Management'. The qualification cannot be attained without first attending the course.
