It’s often said that feedback is like a gift – but why does it sometimes feel like an attack instead? We need to remember that the true purpose of feedback is to either motivate someone to continue doing what they’re doing well, or to help them redirect negative or unsuccessful behavior to have better future outcomes. So, when giving feedback, we need to maintain a positive intent and strive for a positive outcome. We not only have to care enough to offer the gift of feedback… we also need to care enough to deliver it in a way that is helpful for the other person. To ensure that we maximize the true value of the feedback we give, before we open our mouths to say anything we need to give very careful consideration to the “how,” “why,” “what,” “where,” and “when” of our message. This virtual session will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to feel more comfortable and confident when giving feedback; and also when asking for and receiving feedback.
