You will also learn tips on how to ensure that your own language is inclusive and accessible, and how to apply the principles of “Plain English” to your communications to ensure that your message is received, understood, accepted and acted upon.

This course is aimed at anyone who would like to understand business jargon and improve their own communications by eliminating confusing, ambiguous and non-inclusive language.

Communication is vitally important in all business, but how often does communication between people get lost due to misunderstandings of the terminology or terms used? This course looks at where these issues come from, and how they impact you and others around you in the workplace.
You will explore models of communication such as the Shannon–Weaver model and the 3Fs to better understand what goes on in the communication process and how we can make our communication clear, concise, and understood by our audience.
