Live bite-size workshop

Flexibility and Agility

The work environment is changing rapidly. The old command and control management style and rigid, hierarchical structures are too clunky to respond to the needs of the modern world. To thrive and survive, both organisations and individuals need to adopt more agile, flexible and adaptable working practices. This requires more than a theory – it requires a mind-set change.
  • Explore flexibility and agility from two perspectives
  • Identify the characteristics of flexible and agile organisations
  • Develop flexibility and agility in your teams
  • Training options for groups/teams & organisation-wide

Course Code: VILT-FA

90-minute live session delivered virtually or in-person (Perfect for use as part of a blended learning programme)

This programme is available for groups and teams

Speed, flexibility, adaptability, agility – we hear these words more in sports, but we also need to apply them to organisations, teams, and individuals; to empower them to succeed in a world where change is quicker and more complex, and where there is a significant lack of predictability.

Flexibility and agility are key for organisations who want to stay relevant, innovate, and build their reputations – and the same applies to teams and individuals. People who adapt as their customers’ needs evolve, or disrupt the market and drive that evolution, will sustain their competitive advantages and survive in the longer-term. Those who do not, will not.

People are THE essential component in realising the benefits of an agile and flexible organisation. As a leader you need to can act in a way that is focused, fast and flexible, in order to reap the rewards of increased commitment, greater engagement, strong and trusting relationships, and continual learning.

In this 90-minute session, you will explore flexibility and agility from two perspectives: the drivers, benefits and characteristics of flexibility and agility for organisations; and what behaviours you need to develop to adapt yourself to a more agile style of leadership.

  • Do you work in an industry, organisation or role that is constantly changing?
  • Would you like to be perceived as agile in your response to these evolving business pressures?
  • Are you able to adapt at speed and make effective decisions in a rapidly changing world?
  • How might the ability to stay ‘ahead of the game’ benefit you?

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

  • Explain organisational agility: its relevance, drivers and outcomes
  • Assess your organisation’s ability to anticipate, adapt and act
  • Describe the characteristics of flexible and agile leadership
  • Implement four approaches for developing flexibility and agility in yourself and others
