In your working life, there will be some people with whom you are able to communicate easily and naturally – you see things the same way, and dialogue flows effortlessly between you with few misunderstandings or mishaps. On the other hand, there will also be people who just don’t seem to be on your wavelength. Communicating with these people takes a great deal of effort, and you still end up with
crossed wires and a fractious relationship.
The likely reason is that your preferred communication style either complements or clashes with the other person’s style. Our communication styles are a manifestation of our personalities, and they reflect the differences in how we see the world, what our priorities are, and what we choose to hear and to say. Understanding your own approach to communication and how you can modify it to better suit opposing styles is often the key to developing productive relationships at work that are based on mutual understanding and respect.
This highly interactive virtual workshop will help you to identify your own style and the impact it has on how you communicate with - and relate to - the people around you. You will leave with some practical tips and strategies that will help you have a more positive influence and make more lasting connections with your colleagues and stakeholders.
