In today’s workplace, meetings are essential. The challenge is how to use the meeting environment so that everyone participates and the purpose of the meeting is achieved. This topic provides an overview of how to use facilitation skills to lead workplace meetings and collaborative discussions. It describes the role and responsibilities of the facilitator and then, explains what the facilitator can do before, during and after a meeting to ensure effective interaction among meeting participants and that results are achieved. In addition, you will find information on how to deal with common meeting issues and behaviours. There are also tips on how to deal with unique meeting situations.

This 90-minute session looks at putting best practice facilitation into action and creating our group guidelines. Secondly it seeks to define the purpose of facilitation and establish understanding of what it is.
Also looked at are three key skills areas: creating participation, asking great questions and dealing with difficult behaviours.
